Well known for its quirky and great sounding pedals as well as its range of valves/tubes, the New York-based Electro-Harmonix was founded in the 1960s by keyboard player and IBM employee Mike Matthews.

The company's first releases were booster pedals but now the range has grown to include everything from phasers and flangers to overdrive, distortion, fuzz, filter, delay, looper and reverb pedals. Electro-Harmonix is probably best known for its Big Muff Pi pedal, designed to recreate the fuzzy, distorted tones as favoured by 60s guitarists like Hendrix and has had many famous users over the years, including Dave Gilmour, Carlos Santana and (some say) Hendrix himself. The Big Muff was reborn for 2010 with the release of the Germanium Big Muff Pi in June, while the newest pedal for 2011, the Deluxe MemoryMan is another revisit to an old E-H classic!

Electro-Harmonix is also renowned for its vacuum tubes, which are engineered to ensure the highest fidelity and overall warmth. They are widely accepted as the best tubes for any demanding audio application..
