1 February 2011: NEW SONTRONICS MICROPHONES FOR DRUMS
At last month's NAMM Show, British microphone brand announced its latest new products: a trio of condenser microphones specifically designed for drum and percussion following over two years of research and development. The DM-1B (EUR300) is an end-fire, large-diaphragm condenser mic for kick drum and has a maximum SPL of 150dB. It is supplied with an aluminium flightcase. The DM-1T (EUR200) for toms and the DM-1S (EUR200) for snare drum both have maximum SPL of 135dB and both come with a metal drum mount and a mic clip.

29th November 2010: SONTRONICS FOR SALSORRO!
This autumn, we had the great pleasure of being part of the final concert of the SALSORRO 2010 competition, featuring the Orchestra Salsorro 2010 and the salsa legend Cheo Feliciano! All the percussion and voices for the concert were captured using just two Sontronics models: STC-80 and STC-10! The concert was recorded and will undergo further editing and mixing before being released soon!
"Salsa voices need that special glow for which we normally need to compensate with EQ, but with the Sontronics mics there was this glow without needing any equalisation - unbelievable! With 13 monitors above the stage to capture the sound from 17 musicians it ws every impressive, as we could use as much headroom and as much sound pressure on stage without worrying about EQ… it ws easy with these microphones."
